Charlie joined Maecenas in 2015 with 20 years’ experience in the information, communications and technology service industries including executive roles in major tech firms in Australia and Europe. Senior leadership roles in high growth Australian tech businesses Nextgen Group and publicly-listed firms Singtel Optus and Uecomm Limited. Experience extends to the UK and European markets; where he held senior positions with former NASDAQ 100 firm, AboveNet UK and Metromedia Fiber Network (now Zayo Group).
Served on the digital economy’s lead industry body, the Australian Information Industry Association (Victorian) Council and chaired the AIIA’s State Government Committee.
Charlie is an Ambassador for Australian not-for-profit, Second Bite, which distributes fresh food for the needy.
Post Graduate qualifications in Management from the University of Melbourne’s Melbourne Business School. Charlie is a Life Member of the Melbourne University Cricket Club.
James has successfully raised capital across all major asset classes in both Australia and the US markets over two decades developing a unique network in the investment community. The demand for specialist expertise in raising capital across alternative investments led James to found Maecenas in 2012 specialsing with mid stage venture capital to early stage private equity businesses; as well as third party marketing of hedge funds, global income funds and property.
James' passion and hands-on approach, coupled with his deep Family Office network, enabled Maecenas to build a reputation for facilitating successful alternative investment transactions acting for either buyer or seller.
A career which began on the Futures Floor & SYCOM desk at Bell Commodities and also included 10 years' fundamental market experience with Merrill Lynch and BNP Paribas across the equity and derivatives markets in New York City and Sydney led James to Maecenas. James' previous appointments included Director, Sales (Family Offices) at Charter Hall.
Andrew is a Director of Maecenas and responsible for risk and commercial operations. Using his treasury, banking and risk management experience and skills, Andrew has had a 30+ year career in delivering debt and equity solutions to blue chip Australian firms; particularly high impact transactions for both existing and newly created businesses.
Andrew held senior executive roles at Fleet Partners as Group Treasurer (7 years); as well as the Australian Wheat Board Limited (8 years) where he was Assistant Treasurer, Capital Markets. Andrew was Manager of the National Australia Bank's Capital Markets team for 13 years solving complex funding, treasury and business problems during times of organisational growth, change and stress.
